Arizona for Thanksgiving

This year we went to Arizona to be with Shawn's grandparents for Thanksgiving. The last time we went Sophia was crawling around, but this time was a whole new experience because she was running around like a crazy girl. Shawn and I cooked Thanksgiving dinner, with guidance from Grandma of course. It was our first ever attempt at this. I have to say I was very impressed with ourselves. I was so scared I was going to ruin something. Wish they lived a little closer so we could spend more time with them. Sophia really does love hanging out with her Great Grandparents.

Avacados!

Sophia loves avacados these days. She has a heck of a time picking them up. Shawn and I were cracking up watching her make an absolute mess of herself. There really are no words for these pictures.

I love laundry mommy.

Our little miss loves playing with the laundry...no matter if it is clean or dirty. We had to alter where we fold our clothes, but Daddy decided to bring Sophia to the safe folded laundry spot. All the nicely folded clothes were a messy pile in no time. =)

Sophia is 1 year old!

I can't believe that my little love is already one year old. She has been such a joy in our lives. Here are some of the things that she has been up to:

~She officially started walking on her actual birthday.
~She says, "ball" and "hi"
~She knows where her nose, ears and belly are if you ask her.
~She gives the longest sweetest hugs I have ever received from a toddler.
~She is wearing 24 months and 2T clothes along with a size 5 1/2 shoe
~She has four molars, two on top and two on the bottom.
~She loves to brush her teeth with Mommy.
~She will still eat whatever you put in front of her.
~She dances in the backseat of the car and it is absolutely priceless.

We had a few celebrations for Sophia's birthday. I have not collected all the pictures from all the events yet, but I am working on it.

Pumpkin Patch

I promised my little brothers Shawn and I would take them to the pumpkin patch this year. Of course the day we decide to go it is scheduled to rain. We could have stayed home, but instead we thought we would try to beat the rain. Besides the thick tar like mud and the slightly chilled air we got some great pumpkins. Just as we were loading up to head out down came the rain.

Super excited to be there.

She just kept giggling. She did not know where to start.

She wanted to take this one home. Ha!

The uncles trying to help her decide which one.

I think she finally found a good one.

A quick family photo before the rain.

Entertaining Sophia while trying to work.

Sophia gets to go to work with me and Shawn everyday. She has had several contraptions that have provided hours of entertainment. She started by hanging out in her carseat most of the day. She then graduated to her excersaucer, which she absolutely loved. She takes all of her naps in her stroller, which can sometimes be pretty hilarious with the positions she gets herself into. Now she is all over the place in her walker. We finally got her some shoes that fit and she thinks she owns the place. My dad lets her escape to the wharehouse or in the front parking lot (with supervision of course) and she thinks it's the greatest thing. She laughs so hard when you run away from her and she tries to catch you. It is only a matter of time before she is actually running for us. =)

Little mover

Sophia is ALL over the place these days. She is a super sprint crawler and has now mastered pulling herself onto just about everything. Last night Shawn and I were talking in the kitchen and she pulled herself up to a standing position (with the help of the cupboard of course) and just stood there for like 30 seconds. She is so much more sure of herself on her feet now. She hasn't officially taken her first steps yet, but it is just a matter of time.

Sophia is also for sure calling Shawn Dada. It is so adorable. She may call every other man that walks into the room the same thing, but when you ask her where her daddy is she starts looking for him.

She has also mastered the high five, clapping, and pointing at everything she sees. Everyone gets a kick of of it because she does it to everyone that comes near her. She hasn't shown any stranger anxiety yet.
